What is hand-stamping?

Hand Stamping is performed by hand using steel stamps and a hammer – one stamp at a time. The Stamper lines up the stamp by eye, holds it in place with one hand, and with the other hand, hits the end of the stamp with a hammer to impress the letter into the metal. Hand stamped jewelry will have variations in character depth and spacing. It might even be crooked. Sometimes, marking or indentation can be visible on the back of the piece created by the movement of the metal. The charm of hand stamped jewelry is the imperfections that may happen. This is NOT the same as engraving which is done by a machine. Please know each piece will not be 100% flawless- this is the beauty of hand stamping. Refunds are NOT accepted on hand stamped jewelry/accessories unless mistakes made on seller's part.

These items are handstamped and NOT engraved. There will be differences in spacing and impression depth. The letter darkening will probably lighten over time. This adds to the uniqueness of the piece and should not be looked at as a default. Proper care of this piece will extend its beauty. Please contact me via the contact us page or michaela@peytonandforge.com if you have any questions or would like something a little different.

This pad will help extend your pieces life. Each package also comes with a care card with care reminders. Note: The letter darkening will probably lighten over time. Can you stamp on both sides?

Sometimes, marking or indentation can be visible on the back of the piece created by the movement of the metal. For this reason, I can not stamp on back sides unless otherwise stated.
